Strange Heavy plays original moody folk and sultry rock. Based in Ithaca, NY, they broke onto the scene in late 2018 after several years of playing well with others as the duo of McKenzie Lauren Jones and Galen Chamberlain Morley. Strange Heavy's first album, Wearing No Collar, was recorded in The Doghouse Studio in Nashville, TN and released in 2020. Their sophore album, Too Poor To Pray, was recorded closer to home and added Corbin Boisvert on bass and Tony DeVivo on drums. They like hikes and cold drinks and dancing and adult cartoons and each other. They don't like capitalism or alarm clocks. Comprised of groovy cello, guitar, and banjo backing bluesy vocals, Strange Heavy are happy to bring a hot, haunting vibe to an ear near you.
